I paint without a plan. No sketches, no rules — just instinct and intuition. Letting go of thoughts and surrendering to the process of creation, until the work feels true.
I mostly work with mixed media on canvas, often incorporating materials gathered from the places I've been - soil, sand, coffee grounds - grounding each piece in a specific time and place. Born in the Netherlands, shaped by years in Indonesia, Singapore, and now Australia, my work is deeply personal: a record of what rises from within when the world goes quiet. Painting is the one thing that silences my mind completely: I enter a kind of stillness where thought falls away and something truer takes over.
I hope when you look at these paintings, you feel something of that too.

I made this piece without a plan, fully lost in it until I looked up and it was done - which is why I named it Surrender.
My first finished piece since settling in Australia, drawn from the land's red soil and dark earth tones. A luminous band of light cuts through the heavy textures like a horizon; the moment I finally felt rooted here, which is why it's called Grounded.
A more organic piece, born from letting go. About the moment I found my painting self again, returning to true, raw instinct.
